Creating And Editing Custom Lists

Custom Lists are one of the most powerful tools at your disposal in Mattermark. You can use a custom list to follow a specific set of companies, compare them, upload your portfolio, receive news alerts, and much more.

Custom Lists differ from Saved Searches in that they allow you to track and compare specific companies, while Saved Searches gives you the ability to identify new companies or investors based on a saved set of filters and search criteria. In other words, Custom Lists are static unless you manually add more companies to the list. Saved Searches are dynamic as they can change automatically over time given the search criteria.

To Create a New Custom List:

  1. Log in to the Mattermark website.
  2. Select Lists from the dropdown menu at the top of the page and click on Custom Lists.
  3. Click + Create New List.
  4. Enter a name for the new list.
  5. You can then manually enter or copy a list of company URLs from another source. Please note that URLs should be in the companyname.com format and one domain per line. Subdomains are currently not compatible.
  6. Save the new list by clicking Create List.

To Add a Company to an Existing Custom List:

  1. Log in to the Mattermark website.
  2. Go to the company page of your choice.
  3. Select Add to List and choose an existing Custom List.

You will notice a label appear on the Company page indicating to which list it has been added. A company can also be added to an existing Custom List by hovering your cursor over that company in a search and selecting Add to List.

To Bulk Add to an Existing Custom List:

  1. Log in to the Mattermark website.
  2. Select Lists from the dropdown menu at the top of the page and click on Custom Lists.
  3. Click + Create New List.
  4. Enter the name of the existing list.
  5. Enter the company URLs you wish to add to the existing list.
  6. Save the new list by clicking Create List.

To Delete a Company from an Existing Custom List:

  1. Log in to the Mattermark website.
  2. Locate the company you wish to remove by either searching for it or opening the existing Custom List where it resides.
  3. The name of the Custom List will appear as a label below the name of the company, whether you are looking at the company page or hovering your cursor over the company in list view.
  4. Click the X in the Custom List label to remove that company from the list.

*Note: due to how URLs handle special characters, please do not use the '+' sign or '&' in the name of your Custom List.
